Dealing With Panic Attack Symptoms – Identifying The Core Problem
Dealing with panic attack on a daily basis without seeking help and advice is in itself, somewhat irresponsible. I know that sounds a little harsh but the reality is, if you are in this situation then you need not suffer through it alone.
For some reason, many daily panic attack sufferers consider help as a confession that they are somewhat mentally ill; fact is, there are ways you can reduce significantly the trauma of suffering through these attacks on a regular basis.
Jason Finally Sought Help
My friend Jason was a chronic sufferer. Dealing with panic attack for him almost destroyed his life. How? He decided there was nothing that could be done so he eventually withdrew from the world. Consider that Jason was a prominent television reporter in his area and a very popular figure. He did a good job to conceal his condition.
What Jason didn't realise is that by getting the right advice, he could have easily "nipped in the bud" the pain and suffering he endured. Instead, rather than look for answers to why panic attack was a constant in his life, he decided to take the drug route which only increased the incidence of anxiety attack and drove him further and further into that lonely abyss he was creating for himself.
Dealing With Panic Attack Alone
Finally, he sought advice from a specialist who helped him pinpoint why attacks were so prevalent. Jason traced his anxiety back to a relationship break up which he didn't handle very well. It caused him to have feelings of low self esteem and unworthiness and with those thoughts constantly playing around in his mind, he eventually began to act them out.
Crowds began to bother him; he was uncomfortable around people; he began to have mood swings...happy one minute; depressive the next. He began to blame others for his problems and in the end, alienated himself from his friends. It wasn't until a close family member recognized there was a serious problem and encouraged him to seek professional advice. Jason finally obliged and today says it was a life defining moment. With his life back on track and most of the bridges he destroyed mended, Jason now can pick up the pieces and continue to build a prosperous future.
The point I'm trying to make is that if you are dealing with panic attack symptoms on a frequent basis don't resign yourself to accepting it's your fate to face it alone. The core problem of the attacks needs to be dealt with rather than accepting superficial treatments. Winning the battle is only momentary relief; you need to win the war.
A professional can help you identfy the root cause if there is one and once that has been identified, then you can commence to get your life back on track. It may take a little time but in the final analysis, it will be well worth the effort in most cases.
